About Us

The Specialist Center for Children and Youth is part of Angered Local Hospital. We consist of two equivalent clinics, one in Angered and one in Gamlestaden. Here, motivated and development-oriented employees work.

As several of our psychologists are on parental leave, we are looking for a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in neuropsychiatric assessments. Together, we provide specialist healthcare based on the medical and psychological needs of children and adolescents, seeing children aged 0–18 years. Our patients often have complex issues that include medical, social, and psychological aspects. In your work, you will primarily conduct neuropsychiatric assessments but also provide interventions. Additionally, you will assess mental well-being and participate in one of our multidisciplinary teams around children with medical diagnoses. The operation also has a public health responsibility and works closely with municipal services.

We are about 80 employees working together at both of our clinics. The team consists of psychologists, specialist physicians in pediatric and adolescent medicine, child psychiatry, and neurology, pediatric nurses, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, special educators, as well as medical secretaries and receptionists. You will receive supervision together with your psychologist colleagues.

Our clinics are open Monday to Friday during the day, and we primarily have scheduled visits.

Job Responsibilities

As a psychologist, you are part of the team. Your work mainly involves conducting neuropsychiatric assessments, providing therapeutic interventions, and making evaluations. Assessments and evaluations are carried out in accordance with jointly developed templates, supporting documents, and regional guidelines. Much of the work is done together in our multidisciplinary teams. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other staff and managers.

About You

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with a strong interest in working with children and youth and their families. A requirement is that you have experience and feel confident in independently conducting assessments and evaluations of children with developmental neurological disorders. You need to have previous clinical experience working with children and adolescents.

Since the work involves collaborating with parents, various professionals, and other healthcare providers, good collaboration skills are required. You work in a structured manner, are clear and orderly, while also being flexible in your approach.

To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams, but also be able to work independently. You need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
